Transport to the Surgery and to Hospital

PARKING AND TRANSPORT TO THE SURGERY

Parking at the practice is limited, so staff and patients who live near enough are encouraged to walk or cycle to the practice.

Public transport is limited in this area but we try and encourage patients and staff to use public transport when it is possible.

For travel between Byrness, Rochester, Otterburn, East, West Woodburn and Bellingham the shared taxi service operates every Friday (except public holidays) and arrives in Bellingham between 10am and returning in the middle of the day (allowing two hours).

Normal bus fares apply and concessionary bus passes can still be used.

This taxi service must be booked at least one day in advance of travel and you must register for the service initially

To use this service please call Bellingham Taxis on 01434 220570 or email bellinghamtaxis@hotmail.com and thereafter reserve your seat each time you intend to travel.

TRANSPORT TO THE HOSPITAL

Patient transport has changed recently so if you are booking transport for a hospital appointment then it is likely you will be asked a number of questions to see if you qualify for patient transport.

Once you have answered these questions if you are unhappy with the outcome we would suggest that you contact PALS (The Patient Advice and Liason Service) on Freephone 08000320202.
