Patient Participation Group

We have a Patient Participation Group that was established in 2011.  This is a representative group of about 35  patients registered at the practice, with an age range from 15 to 75. The group comprises of school children, young mothers, carers, employed and retired patients. Patients with learning dificulties are represented on the group and patients from different ethnic backgrounds.  We have both male and female members in th group. Some of the memebrs of this group are happy to meet at the practice, while others would prefer to be a "virtual group member", this is especially useful for patients who are working, who have young families to care for or who live in more remote areas of our very rural practice.  The school children on our group are part of our virtual group.  The are also involved in the young peoples group that we have running at the practice were we look at "hot topics" and have had several education sessions. We currently have a patients survey running looking at the specifics needs of young people.

The group is an oportunity for patients to raise issues relating to the practice along with developing a survey so we can get the views and feedback from the wider pratice population.

As in previous years the group has met on several occasions in the last 12 months. We had guest speakers, discussed the sction plan and at our most recent meeting had an open discussion about Care.Data.

You will links below to minutes to meetings, action plan information and reports from the Patient Participation Group that have taken place since this group was established.

Patient Participation Report March 2014

You said we did.

Your asked

"Can we have a clock in the waiting room"

We said

"Yes of course" Please take note the next time you are in the practice.

You asked

"Can your reception staff please give their names when they answer the telephone"

We said.

"We have asked staff to do this so" Please take note when you next call the surgery.

You asked

"Can we have tea and coffee facilities at flu clinics"

We said

"Flu clinics are very busy times and our staff are extremely busy.  We also have a steady flow of patients for these clinics and there is a quick turnround so unfortunately we are unable to offer this facility. You can however have chilled water, this is available all year round"

We have regular meetings but also email contact when there is anything to discuss.
